Carnegie Mellon University Master of Design in Communication Planning & Information Design

Thesis: Typography in Cross Cultural Environments

Carnegie Mellon University Bachelor of Fine Arts in Communication Design
Minor in History of Arts

Jung Y. Paek is a New York based communication designer with professional work experience in advertising. She was fortunate enough to have grown up across cultures—Chicago, Korea, NY, NJ, Mexico City, Moscow, and Pittsburgh. The diversity of such an upbringing reflects in her design approach; in its adaptability, cross-cultural empathy, and keen attention to data and history.

Jung received her Master of Design degree and Bachelor of Fine Arts from Carnegie Mellon University, where she also taught undergraduate students for 2 years. She has worked with organizations like Genentech, Samsung, Pfizer, Edwards Lifesciences, W.P.Carey, PwC, Jiamini, The Face Shop, Allergan, Takeda, AMAG, and Vornado.

In her spare time, she takes photographs, writes calligraphy, and does indoor rock climbing.
